The Complex Relationship between Free Radicals and Cancer

Importantly, these antioxidant systems can be overwhelmed by high amounts of free radicals, underscoring the importance of increasing the concentration of antioxidants in cells to prevent possible adverse events that could lead to the development of a cancerous process.

A balanced and conscious diet, which includes foods with antioxidant properties, can be a key factor in cancer prevention.
