Barcelona Prepares for the Largest and Exclusive Wine Festival
Barcelona, one of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities in Europe, is preparing to welcome wine lovers from around the world at the Barcelona Wine Festival. This event, which will take place from February 2 to 7, promises to be a unique experience that fuses wine excellence with hotel luxury.
A Fusion of Wine Culture and Luxury Hospitality
The Barcelona Wine Festival, in collaboration with Barcelona Wine Week, will bring together five outstanding Denominations of Origin: DO Cava, DO Penedès, DO Jumilla, DO Yecla and DO Bullas. These denominations will be represented by nine jewels of Barcelona hospitality, which will open their doors to offer a unique experience to attendees.
For six days, participating hotels will become unique settings for tasting high-quality wines. Each hotel will house the unique essence and identity of a wine region, offering visitors the opportunity to explore Spanish wine culture in the heart of Barcelona.
The Festival Routes
The Barcelona Wine Festival will have three routes, each one dedicated to a specific Designation of Origin:
Route DO Cava
This route will include hotels such as El Palace Barcelona, Almanac Barcelona and Cotton House. Here, attendees will be able to immerse themselves in the aromatic complexity of the Spanish sparkling wine par excellence: cava.
Route DO Penedès
On this route, the Majestic Hotel & Spa, Monument Hotel and Claris Hotel & Spa hotels will offer an excellent selection of still wines with a Mediterranean spirit, characteristic of the Penedès region.
Region of Murcia Wine Route
The Murcia Region route will bring together the Kimpton Vividora, Neri Relais & Châteaux and Wittmore Hotel hotels. Here, visitors will be able to enjoy the color and body of the great wines from the Bullas, Jumilla and Yecla Denominations of Origin.
An Unmatched Gastronomic Experience
In addition to wine tasting, the Barcelona Wine Festival will offer a wide variety of tapas, dishes and tasting menus, carefully selected to harmonize with each wine. Attendees will be able to enjoy the ‘tapas and dishes’ route of each Denomination of Origin without prior reservation, at an average price of €8, or reserve the exclusive ‘tasting menu’ at an average price of €50, which includes pairing.
The Best Pairing Award
During the Festival, participating hotels will compete for the coveted Best Pairing Award. This prestigious award will be awarded by a popular jury, whose decision will be announced on February 7, during the last day of Barcelona Wine Week.
