Four specialties sold out in the third shift!
An exciting day was experienced in the MIR world with the culmination of the third shift, where four specialties reached their limit of available places. Anesthesiology, Endocrinology, Gynecology and Neurosurgery were the disciplines that generated the greatest expectation.
Exciting details of the day
The shift, which welcomed applicants with order numbers between 4,201 and 4,500, resulted in a resounding success with 93% of the places assigned, 292 of the 300 available! Even non-EU applicants achieved an impressive 95% placement rate.
The closing of the quota in Anesthesiology was foreseeable, given that the day began with only two places in dispute. As for Endocrinology, its final three spots were also assigned in this shift, as was Obstetrics and Gynecology, which filled its spot earlier than expected.
Neurosurgery, for its part, closed its quota with the election of the last place at the University Hospital of Cáceres, demonstrating a significant increase in demand.
Two medical specialties on the verge of completion
Digestive system and Pediatric Surgery were close to filling their quota, with only a couple of places available. The latter are expected to be granted in the first shift on Saturday.
Balance so far
With eleven complete specialties, the halfway point of available places has been surpassed. For the remaining days, only 49% of these remain. It stands out that in Family and Community Medicine, the specialty with the greatest offer, only 6% of the places have been chosen so far.
