Labor Stabilization in the Health Sector

In a recent announcement, the head of the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Esther Monzón, has highlighted the government’s efforts to comply with legal deadlines to guarantee job stability in the Canary Islands Health Service.

Monzón attributed any delay in the process to the inaction of the previous government, stressing that in just nine months they have made significant progress that was not previously made in three years.

The actions carried out include the evaluation of applicants, the creation of an interface to upload professional experience, and the publication of the final list of candidates.

He also highlighted the resolution that approves the final results of the selective process for the stabilization of employment, which represents a crucial step towards greater job security in the Canarian health sector.

Pending Challenges and Call to Action

Despite the progress, socialist deputy Miguel Ángel Pérez del Pino has urged the government to speed up the process, noting that thousands of jobs are still at stake due to the current management.

Pérez del Pino emphasized the need for an active commitment to prevent deadlines from being passed and jobs remaining at risk.

Digital Transformation in Healthcare

Apart from the labor stabilization efforts, Minister Monzón also highlighted the technological advances in the Canarian Health Service.

Within the E-Health program, several projects are being developed to improve efficiency and patient experience in the health system.

One of these projects allows patients to report their health-related quality of life results, providing a more complete view of the population’s health status.

In addition, a smart notification system is being implemented to simplify the management of appointments and diagnostic test results, thus reducing the need for unnecessary visits to the medical center.

The Patient Devices project will facilitate remote monitoring of patient health, allowing for faster intervention by health professionals.

These technological efforts also include the implementation of the national SIGenES project, which will expand genetic testing services and improve diagnostic coordination at the national level.

Commitment to Innovation and Wellbeing

Monzón concluded by highlighting the government’s commitment to technological innovation and the well-being of citizens, ensuring that these initiatives will lay the foundation for more patient-centered and sustainable healthcare in the future.
