The legalization of CBD in Mexico has been a process marked by emblematic cases, such as that of Grace Elizalde, which promoted changes in the legislation. Although they initially faced legal obstacles, the passage of the Medical Cannabis Reform in 2017 allowed the legal use of CBD products in the country.
The ‘Por Grace’ Project and Access to CBD
The ‘Por Grace’ project emerged as an initiative to share the experience of Mayela and Raúl Elizalde, Grace’s parents, and promote the medicinal use of marijuana in Mexico. His work has contributed to the modification of the General Health Law and the Federal Penal Code, as well as the adoption of a resolution by the World Health Organization on the medicinal value of cannabidiol.
