A Direct Meeting between Producers and Consumers
In Fuenlabrada’s sunny Plaza de España, an exciting event is about to begin. Fourteen carefully arranged stalls await visitors with a variety of fresh and delicious products. But this is not just any fair; It is the Producers’ Fair, where local farmers meet face to face with consumers.
From crisp lettuces to artisanal cheeses, aromatic wines and premium olive oil, producers have brought the best of their fields and orchards. Without intermediaries, without long supply chains: here, Fuenlabrada residents can buy directly from those who grow and make these products with love and dedication.
Supporting Local Agriculture and the Environment
The goal of this fair is not only to fill consumers’ pantries, but also to strengthen the agricultural community and promote sustainable practices. The gardeners and artisans of Fuenlabrada, along with other producers from the Community of Madrid, have come together to offer a fresh and healthy alternative to the conventional market.
The tasting of products from the Agrarian Park, led by the Hospitality course of the Center for Initiatives and Training for Employment (CIFE), is an opportunity to savor the authenticity of the land. In addition, a theater show and a cooking show by the Roos Asador restaurant add a touch of entertainment to the day.
Promoting Local Commerce
But the Producers’ Fair is not the only celebration in Fuenlabrada. Last weekend, more than 7,000 people joined the III Trade Fair in the same Plaza de España. Forty-two local businesses displayed their products and services, from fashion to beauty.
The ‘Fuenlabrada te dresses’ fashion show, organized in collaboration with the Association of Businesswomen (EMA), was a resounding success. More than 500 people immersed themselves in the latest trends while supporting local businesses. The Councilor for Commerce, Soledad Martín, expressed her gratitude to all the participants and highlighted the importance of promoting local commerce in the city.
